these were the rules incubating the egg:

• bangers only

• expand my poetess to forms not yet explored

• bring murky sediments of my story to the light

• speak not much about the laboring until after the birth

• concern myself with wisdom from intuitive rivers

• take note of how my creative process has changed since the days of living mostly in bed, with no poetry available to me no matter how desperately I grasped for it, and revel in gratitude for capacity building, recovery, & divine timing

• sit on this egg for as long as she needs, for she will hatch & fly when she's damn well ready to, and not a moment sooner
